Emily (custom doll)

Some time ago, I came across info concerning the existence of the Obitsu "Rosalie" doll. I of course missed the pre-order and order periods. The doll did subsequently become available secondhand through Mandarake but both the doll and outfit were in poor condition. I then came across the Obitsu semi-custom doll using the same head butt this wasn't good enough for me. Not that it mattered because I couldn't order it anyway. I then came across Obitsu shop's page for the specific blank head I would need for my custom.

Azone FAR255-BLK Dress

The dress name, "Red Bird Canon Dress" makes no sense. I don't know the context. :P

Purchased from Hobby Search.

Stockings by Dollremi

I bought the gloves and the stockings in the same order.
The stockings are meant for Azone 50cm-class dolls, including AZO2.

Our first model is Homu-homu and... I don't have a lot of clothes for Azone 50cm dolls and don't have much beyond her default costume. That needs to change but that's for another blog post in future.

OK, let's try someone who isn't a licensed character as a model.
I named the girl below "Tiffania".

The seven year itch? 😅

I bought two pairs of the Dollremi stockings. Homu-homu has a standard Obitsu 50cm body. Tiffania has the AZO2 G-bust body. The stockings fit on standard Obtisu 50cm/Azone 50cm dolls and AZO2 dolls just fine.

Coordinating More Random Clothing

I bought the sleeveless dress from SEN. I bought it at the Akihabara store instead of online. I can't find the item on its web site anymore.

The jacket came from this Volks clothing set:

The socks:

 The loafers are by Obitsu.

I bought the umbrella from the Azone Akihabara store.

Obitsu 60 to Dollfie Dream Wrist Mod

PERFORM MODIFICATIONS AND USE TOOLS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I've often been disappointed with Obitsu 60 optional hands. Not only is the quality nowhere near as good as Dollfie Dream hands, the selection is also extremely limited. Trying to use DD hands on an Obitsu wrist frame will result in the hand falling off. DD wrist frames also don't fit onto Obitsu 60 arm parts. These problems will disappear today with some modifications.

This is the default Obitsu 60 wrist frame.
There's nothing special about it.

Sharon's new Doll Head | シャロンの新しいドールヘッド

I don't like the doll head included with the Obitsu50 body. I did a faceup on it but she's not cute at all. I decided to use a different doll head and create a new Sharon.

オビツ50ボディに付属されているドールヘッドは気に入らない。
せっかくドールメイクをしても全然可愛くない。
違うドールヘッドを使って新しいシャロンを作ることにした。

Custom Obitsu 50cm (Sharon)

Looking at these photos... Wow, they're horrible. ^^; (Due to time constraints, I'm not about to retake them with better lighting.)

I actually wanted to take on an Obitsu 50cm project for a while but because I couldn't find the exact outfit I wanted for the doll, I haven't bothered... until I found the said outfit. First, here's the doll body.

Dr. Frankendollfie version 3

Not that anyone is asking how Platina is as flexible as she is but I wanted to share images of one of my prototype skeletons anyway. :)

My Daughter Can Kick Your Daughter's Head Off

I hadn't uploaded anything in a while so this blog was somewhat neglected. While I did finish a few other minor projects concerning dolls, I didn't feel like going through the trouble of taking photos and posting them. (Considering I can count on one hand how many people read this blog as of this writing, you might understand why.)

Since I was taking photos at the time for different reasons, I decided to take some of Platina and the highly customized body she's currently using. Her outer skin is 90+% Volks. Her innards are a combination of Volks, Obitsu, Parabox Toy Skeleton, brass pipes, plastic pipes, screws, nuts, and miscellaneous parts.

Mr. Masking Sol Neo

EDIT: If you perform the procedure mentioned in this post, the masking solution will mix with the putty adhesive holding up the eyes. If you ever remove those eyes, you won't be able to reuse the putty adhesive. Yes, I learned this the hard way long after making this post.

Having a few ongoing simultaneous doll assembling projects, one cyborg I built was Platina. (Yes, I named her after the Valkyrie Profile character.)

Dr. Frankendollfie

I decided to build my own 60cm/2-foot-class doll using off-the-shelf parts because I thought doing so might be fun.

I made some rules for building this doll. Those rules are: All the parts and tools used must be off the shelf. They must be parts and tools which can be purchased online, from a national (or international) retailer, or common enough so they can be purchased just about anywhere. No "limited edition" parts or tools are to be used. (Specialized or proprietary tools are OK as long as they can be purchased easily.)

Dye Bleeding Experiment

If you decide to imitate anything posted below, DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

After the dye transfer fiasco and how much work it took to remove the stains, I wondered if the culprit clothing pieces were a lost cause. The culprits were the bra, panties, and socks.

1/6 Scale Dolls: Hands With Moving Fingers

Dolls generally include fixed pose hands. The fingers and thumbs can't be moved individually, or more like they can't be moved at all. If you want to have the dolls making different gestures, you have to buy hands in specific shapes.

DIY: Simple Wig Stand

If you wondered about and want a good way to comb your doll's wig without having the wig on your doll, then this is for you. Hopefully, you'll find the following information useful. What you need are:
  • A round object
  • Sticks of some kind
  • A base of some kind (optional)
