Christmas Comes a Day Late | (日本では)二日遅れのクリスマス

I saw photos at some Japanese blog with a doll wearing "Wine Clothing". However, it's difficult to buy such things at a Daiso in the US... or so I thought and I was able to make a purchase. It's past Christmas, though. Since it's now past Christmas, Christmas items were now all half off! While I was at it, I purchased a Santa hat.

Custom Obitsu 50cm (Sharon)

Looking at these photos... Wow, they're horrible. ^^; (Due to time constraints, I'm not about to retake them with better lighting.)

I actually wanted to take on an Obitsu 50cm project for a while but because I couldn't find the exact outfit I wanted for the doll, I haven't bothered... until I found the said outfit. First, here's the doll body.

Alison's Makeover

Alison is unique among my Smart Dolls. Her body is a Smart Doll but her head is not. Her head is DDH-06 normal with 24mm akane Type-P eyes. Faceup by me, using Gundam Markers.

I purchased the Smart Doll body a year and a half(?) ago when the Mirai Store still sold bodies by themselves. Various heads were swapped onto this body over the past 1.5 years but I finally gave it a permanent "host" with the doll I named Alison.

Dolk Stores Pilgrimage

During my recent visit to Japan, I dropped by all 3 Dolk stores. I don't have photos of what the stores look like inside. While I could have taken some, I was more interested in shopping than taking photos. These are here just to say I was at all 3 locations.

The Dolk store point card has no expiration date and is valid at all 3 locations. :D

DollfieⓇ Dream Face-up Journey

Growcian generously purchased a DollfieⓇ Dream head (DDH-06) for me so that we can immerse ourselves in our own Dolpa (transliterated Japanese short form of Doll Party) face-up activities at my home in Orange County.

In my first run through this face-up, I ended up with the following.

Visiting the Mirai Store: September 12, 2017

During my recent trip to Japan, I built Moonlight through the workshop.

After I was finished building her, I bought her some clothes. For now, I'm going to image dump the photos I took while I was at the Mirai Store. I'll post the clothes I bought for Moonlight + additional images later. Even if you came here from Twitter and saw my tweets, you'll still see a few new images.

Volks Locations Japan Tour

Akihabara Doll Point, November 2015:

What I have here is a collection of photos from various Volks stores I visited across Japan. I haven't visited them all and I don't think I'll be able to do so unless I dedicate myself toward visiting the country from end to end.

If you choose to read on, be warned this post is image heavy. If you came here via a direct link, well, never mind. XD

Sort of Non-lazy Edition, Los Angeles Dolpa of Anaheim

I previously posted most of the photos in this blog post at my Twitter account but since this is a doll blog, I decided to post the photos here as well. This post is image heavy, so please keep that in mind when you click on the "Read more" link or you arrived at this page by a direct link.

DIY Saddle Stand, a.k.a. the Most Ghetto Saddle Stand Ever

If you ever thought of buying a professionally made saddle stand, as nice as it looks and as strong as it may be, it's quite expensive. Welcome to the most unprofessional tutorial in the history of mankind for how to make your own 60cm doll saddle stand! XD XD XD

Doll on Doll Violence II

This time, instead of featuring the weapon of choice for space wizards or 60-foot tall robots, I'll discuss plastic model kits of modern assault rifles. To the left is an image of the kits I have.

While you may not find the exact model as the ones in the photo, if you live outside of Japan, you can buy 1/3 scale rifle kits from Amiami or Hobby Search.

Instructions come in English and Chinese. The kits are not complicated and the pictures in the manual make it very clear which parts go where.

You'll need nippers/sprue cutters, plastic model cement, a hobby knife, pin vise, and a drill bit set. You'll need additional tools if you want to do more than the bare minimum but I'm not going to get into that.

DIY Doll Chair Stand 2.1

About 2 months ago, I made a DIY chair for 60cm-class ladies. If you're reading this before reading the original post linked in the previous sentence, go read the older post first.

Smart Doll - Chitose Shirasawa

Back in September 19, 2016, I received a package from Growcian. Amongst his frenzied itinerary through various parts of Japan, he was visiting Culture Japan, a company that was founded by Danny Choo to produce his line of Smart Dolls.

Dr. Frankendollfie version 3

Not that anyone is asking how Platina is as flexible as she is but I wanted to share images of one of my prototype skeletons anyway. :)

Doll on Doll Violence I

Since there's a Roman numeral 1 in the title, I'll eventually feature more weapons for 1/3 scale daughters.

If you were to look for 1/3 scale weapons, you might have a hard time finding any. There's a Katana at Volks USA, a few weapons are listed but are out of stock at Volks Japan, and you might be able to find 1/3 scale military rifles at various retailers. I personally feel finding 1/3 scale weapons is difficult, expensive, or both. This led me to consider alternatives.

To the right is a pair of Gundam themed chopsticks I purchased at a Gundam Cafe in Japan. They set me back 1080 yen. At the exchange rate as of this writing, that's about 10 USD. If you want to copy what I did, I realize this is not helpful for those who don't live in Japan or don't have plans to visit. However, my point is to show alternate methods for providing your daughters with the kinds of weapons worthy of their psychopathic tendencies.

I will also use a Gundam Marker for this project.

DIY Doll Chair Stand II

Some of you might recall seeing the first doll chair stand project. With that one, the chair is sufficient for 50cm-class dolls manufactured by Obitsu (and then rebranded by Azone) but it's not big enough for 60cm-class Dollfies. I wanted a display chair for a 60cm-class doll so I bought a few items.

Doll Head Case

I stole this idea from a Japanese doll blog.

*NOW* I see the lid wasn't completely flush when I took the photo. XD

I didn't copy everything shown at the Japanese doll blog. For starters, this is a slightly different box.

My Daughter Can Kick Your Daughter's Head Off

I hadn't uploaded anything in a while so this blog was somewhat neglected. While I did finish a few other minor projects concerning dolls, I didn't feel like going through the trouble of taking photos and posting them. (Considering I can count on one hand how many people read this blog as of this writing, you might understand why.)

Since I was taking photos at the time for different reasons, I decided to take some of Platina and the highly customized body she's currently using. Her outer skin is 90+% Volks. Her innards are a combination of Volks, Obitsu, Parabox Toy Skeleton, brass pipes, plastic pipes, screws, nuts, and miscellaneous parts.
